The current minister of the Federal Capital Territory in 2023 is Muhammad Musa Bello. He was appointed in May 2015 by President Buhari and has remained a serving minister since then. He is deputized by Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, who is the Honorable FCT Minister (State).
Born on 8, January 1959, Mohammed Musa Bello (CON) is a Nigerian banker and an indigene of Adamawa State. His father, Alhaji Musa Bello, was the Managing Director of Northern Nigeria Development Company (from 1970 to 1976) and was a trusted friend of President Buhari.
Bello attended Barewa College before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria where he bagged a degree in Management (Banking and Finance) in 1980 as well as an MBA in the same field.
He spent over 20 years in the corporate sector, working at Habib Bank Plc, ICON Merchant Bank Plc, J.P. Morgan, and several top-ranking firms.
In October 2022, he was conferred with the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
