The African University of Science and Technology (AUST) is a private, pan-African university located in Abuja, FCT.
The institution was established in 2007 as a regional initiative led by the Nelson Mandela Institution (NMI). The aim was to create a world-class research and advanced training institute in relevant scientific and technological disciplines that would serve as regional resources and borders of excellence in sub-Saharan Africa.

Baze University
Founded by Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Baze University is a private tertiary institution established in 2011 and offers British standard university education.
The main campus, located along Jabi Airport Road, hosts the Academic and Administrative (Ahmadu Abubakar) building, the Social Area, and the Sports Complex. The second university campus is located in Bwari Local Government and is under development.
Currently, Baze University has six (6) faculties which include the three (3) foundational faculties (Management & Social Sciences, Law and Computing & Applied Sciences), Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Basic Medical, and Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
To apply for undergraduate admission at the institution, you must:
- Obtain a JAMB form and meet the required cut-off point
- Possess at least 5 credits in O’level (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB)

Bingham University
Bingham University is not a university located in Abuja. It is a private university geographically situated in New Karu, Nassarawa state (which is 25 km from Abuja FCT). Due to its close proximity, it is considered a private university option for degree-seekers in Abuja.
The institution was established in 2005 by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) to meet the demand for high-quality secular education that integrates the moral and spiritual values founded on the Christian faith.
The university is one of the few private universities in the Northern part of Nigeria and was named after three Sudan interior missionaries.
Bingham University offers Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees for various programs across Medicine, Management and Social sciences, and Science.
Nile University of Nigeria
The Nile University of Nigeria is a private university established in 2009 to provide high-quality tertiary education for the country’s ever-increasing number of secondary school leavers.

The institution was founded in March 2002 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria through a resolution at its meeting in Abuja.
However, a provisional operational license was granted by the National Universities Commission in May 2007 and the university was sited in Bwari, Abuja.
Veritas University offers undergraduate degrees cutting across a wide variety of programs and a school of postgraduate studies.

Philomath University is a private university located in Kuje and was established in 2021.
The name ‘Philomath’ was derived from two Greek words; “Philos” which means love and “math” which means learning. Therefore, the name “Philomath” signifies a love for learning.
